A Family Legacy
Continuing a proud family legacy of medical service to the greater Wareham community, Dr. Amy Gleason Wiegandt opened this internal medicine practice in 1993.
Her deep roots in local medicine began with her grandfather, Dr. Charles S. Gleason, who treated patients in the early 1900s—often traveling by horse and buggy for house calls—until his passing in 1927. That medical tradition was carried on by her parents, Drs. Charles “Sherm” Gleason, a trusted pediatrician, and Elizabeth “Betty” Gleason, a devoted general practitioner.
The office eventually moved from the family homestead on High Street to its current location on Cranberry Highway. Today, Dr. Wiegandt and her team continue to provide thoughtful, personalized care. Several members of the staff have been with her for a long time, and her nurse practitioner—who also has strong local ties—has been a valued part of the team for over 15 years.
